1870년 Leicester School of Art로 설립되어 1992년 4년제로 바뀐 드몽포트 대학교는 작년에 아트 앤 디자인 빌딩을 새로 지으면서 학생들에게 최상의 학교 시설을 제공하고 있습니다. 세계에 몇 안 되는 세부 디자인 전공인 신발디자인과 속옷디자인이 있어 유명하고 다양한 업체들과 연계가 잘 되어 있습니다. 이로 인해 학생들의 작품들이 실제 영화나 뮤지컬에서 쓰여 높은 취업률을 자랑하고 있습니다. 구찌, 나이키, 폴 스미스등 세계 유명 산업체들과 연계 또한 잘되어 있어 학생들의 인턴쉽 기회가 높은걸로도 유명합니다.
