▣ 학교소개

1881년에 University College Liverpool로 설립된 이 학교는, 1903년 리버플 대학교로 변경되었습니다.  2020년 영국대학순위 (QS선정기준)에서 23위를 차지한 University of Liverpool은 영국의 IVY로 불리는 24개의 명문대학들의 협력 단체인 러셀 그룹 (Russell Group)의 초창기 멤버이며, 영국의 건축가 알프레드 워터하우스가 1892년에 설계한 리버플 대학교의 빅토리아 빌딩은 그 자체로 관광 명소입니다. 이 건물은 고딕 양식으로 지어진 것으로, ' Red Brick 대학교'라는 용어에 영감을 주었습니다. Red Brick 대학교는 빅토리아 시대에 영국의 선도적인 산업 도시들에 세워진 영국 대학들의 집합체를 가리켰습니다. 졸업생으로는 방송기자 존 스노우와 전 시인 수상자인 캐롤 앤 더피가 있습니다.

리버풀대학은 의학, 공학, 수의학 분야에서 활발한 연구할동을 펼치고 있으며, 9명의 노벨상 수상자를 배출한 학교로도 유명합니다. 8,000여명의 외국유학생을 포함하여 현재 약 23,000명의 학생들이 재학 중에 있으며, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering,  Archaeology,  Town & Country Planning and Landscape 등의 전공이 Top 20위 안에 랭크 되고 있습니다. 특히, 비틀즈의 도시로 잘 아려진 만큼이나 Music / Popular Music뿐만 아니라 축구과정으로 영국 내에서 유일하게 MBA를 제공하고 있어 한국에서 주목 받는 대학입니다. 중국의 쑹저우에 리버플 대학교 캠퍼스를 운영 하고 있습니다.
